Application Requirements
The terms and requirements listed represent the minimum criteria for application. Meeting these criteria does not guarantee selection for the programme.
The candidate selection process involves a thorough evaluation, taking into account several factors such as the applicant's academic performance, previous academic achievements, university and specialisation rankings, and other criteria set by the programme.
General Requirements
Applicants to the scholarship programme must:
- Be a citizen of the United Arab Emirates holding a family book issued from the Emirate of Dubai.
- Be between 17 and 20 years old, and a high school graduate in the year of the scholarship or in previous academic years (not exceeding two years).
- Have obtained a high school certificate from an accepted academic system, with equivalency from the Ministry of Education, or be among the top high school graduates as determined annually.
- Not hold any other scholarship from any entity, either within or outside the United Arab Emirates.
- Have personally submitted an application to the scholarship programme within the specified dates.
- Have received conditional or unconditional admission to a specific programme and university from an academic institution that meets the scholarship programme’s criteria and conditions.
- Be fully dedicated to studying in the country where the scholarship is awarded.
Academic Requirements
Applicants to the scholarship programme must meet the minimum requirements and academic achievements based on the following educational curriculum:
International Baccalaureate Curriculum
The applicant must meet one of the following options:
- International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma):
Obtain an IB Diploma with a minimum score of 28 points, including a grade of at least 5 in two Higher Level (HL) subjects.
- International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP):
Obtain an IBCP certificate, which includes:
- A grade of 4 or higher in two IB subjects.
- A BTEC Level 3(90 credits) qualification with a minimum grade of DM or its equivalent.
- IB Subject Certificates:
Complete six (6) IB subjects, meeting one of the following conditions:
- A minimum grade of 5 in two Higher Level (HL) subjects.
- A minimum grade of 4 in five Standard Level (SL) subjects.
British Curriculum
The applicant must meet one of the following options:
- Achieve a grade of B in two Advanced level (AL) subjects or their equivalent.
- Achieve a grade of A in four Advanced Subsidiary (AS) subjects or their equivalent.
- Achieve a grade of DD in a BTEC Level 3 qualification (120 credits) or its equivalent.
- Obtain a combination of AS, AL, and BTEC Level 3 qualifications, calculated as follows:
Every two AS subjects are equivalent to one AL subject or 60 credits of BTEC Level 3 with the grades specified above.
Examples :
- One AL subject with a grade of B, plus 60 credits from a BTEC qualification with a grade of D.
- Two AS level subjects with grades of AB, plus one AL subject with a grade of B.
American Curriculum
The applicant must meet All of the following requirements:
- Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75 in the high school certificate.
- Meet one of the following options:
- Achieve a grade of 4 or higher in two Advanced Placement (AP) subjects.
- Achieve a score of 650 in the SAT Math test and a score of 6 in the IELTS test (or a score of 60 in the TOEFL-IBT).
Ministry of Education (MOE) Curriculum
General Stream:
- Achieve a minimum score of 90% in the high school certificate.
- Obtain a score of 650 in the SAT Math test.
- Obtain a score of 6 in the IELTS test (or a score of 60 in the TOEFL-IBT).
Applied Stream:
The applicant must meet All of the following requirements:
- Achieve a minimum score of 90% in the high school certificate.
- Obtain a score of 650 in the SAT Math test.
Advanced Stream:
The applicant must meet All of the following requirements:
- Achieve a minimum score of 85% in the high school certificate.
- Obtain a score of 650 in the SAT Math test.
- Obtain a score of 6 in the IELTS test (or a score of 60 in the TOEFL-IBT).
Elite Stream:
The applicant must meet All of the following requirements:
- Achieve a minimum score of 80% in the high school certificate.
- Obtain a score of 650 in the SAT Math test.
- Obtain a score of 6 in the IELTS test (or a score of 60 in the TOEFL-IBT).
SABIS Curriculum
The applicant must meet All of the following requirements:
- Achieve a minimum score of 85% with a grade of A in the high school certificate.
- Meet one of the following options:
- Achieve a score of 650 in the SAT Math test and a score of 6 in the IELTS test (or a score of 60 in the TOEFL-IBT).
- Achieve a grade of A in two AS level subjects or their equivalent.
- Achieve a score of 4 or higher in two AP subjects, in addition to achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75
German Curriculum
The applicant must meet the following requirements for the German curriculum:
Achieve a minimum score of 2.5 in the Deutsches International Abitur (DIA) exam.
French Curriculum
The applicant must meet the following requirements:
Achieve a minimum score of 14.00 in the French Baccalaureate exam or the French high school diploma.
University Admission Requirements
Scholarship within the UAE
Applicants must fulfil the following requirements to study within the UAE:
- Meet the academic requirements according to the educational curriculum.
- Obtain university admission to an academic programme within one of the higher education institutions listed in the scholarship programme to study within the UAE:

- If the applicant is already a university student in a higher education institution that meets the programme's criteria, they must have obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of no less than 3.5 (or its equivalent) in the most recent academic year at the university.

Scholarship outside the UAE
Applicants must fulfil the following requirements for study outside the UAE:
- Meet the academic requirements according to the educational curriculum.
- Obtain university admission to an institution ranked among the top 200 universities globally or to a programme ranked among the top 100 academic programmes according to QS or THE global rankings.
