The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) continues to engage with all stakeholders to improve the quality of education for all students in Dubai. This year, the fifth year of inspections, there has been a specific focus on provision for students with special educational needs (SEN) and on standards in Arabic. Information about these and other aspects of private schools, including those offering different curricula, together with recommendations for further improvement are summarized in this document. Approximately half the students in Dubai attend the 63 private schools providing a good or better quality of education. The quality of education in the other 80 schools is below the expected “good” level. Although the overall picture is one of improvement from year to year, since last year there has been only a small overall improvement; ten schools improved their overall rating and eight schools achieved lower ratings.
