Trade Name Reservation Certificate

• KHDA Educational Services Permit and the commercial license must be valid at the time of submitting the application for this service.
• The proposed name for the training institute must satisfy the following conditions:
  • is not used by, or similar to, the name of any other training institute within the UAE unless that institute provides its consent in the manner required by KHDA.
  • does not suggest, directly or indirectly, any association with any other institute or educational institution outside of the UAE, as a result of being identical or similar to the name of that institute or institution, unless the Permit holder provides proof of this association in the manner required by KHDA.
  • does not contain any wording that suggests, directly or indirectly, that the training institute is sponsored by any public figure who has no actual association with the training institute.
  • does not include any wording that could mislead the public or be used for promotional purposes
  • reflects the potential, activities, type, and quality of the training programmes offered by the training institute.
  • does not contain anything that may constitute a violation under the legislation in force in the Emirate or conflict with public order and morality.
• The training institute must use its name, as approved by KHDA and stated in the educational permit, in all its publications, correspondence, documents, and advertising material. The training institute is prohibited from changing its name without first obtaining the relevant written approval from KHDA.
• If the name of a training institute breaches any of the rules or conditions outlined in Article 10 of KHDA bylaw, the institute must change its name in accordance with the relevant rules and conditions set by KHDA.

• Submit the name change application through KHDA portal.
• KHDA carries out an internal review and issues a decision.
• Fees for amending the training institute name are payable once all conditions and requirements are met.
• The institute’s Educational Services Permit is updated with the new name, and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is issued to the relevant licensing authority. The NOC remains valid for 30 days.
