This service enables private schools to obtain KHDA approval to introduce a new curriculum or change their current educational curriculum.

Required Documents

  1. Updated academic plan (for adding a new curriculum) or a new academic plan (for changing the curriculum).
  2. Accreditation certificates from recognised academic bodies (if available).
  3. A copy of the letter sent to parents informing them of the curriculum change or addition.

Terms and Conditions

  1. KHDA Educational Services Permit and the license must be valid at the time of submitting the application for this service.
  2. The school must submit an academic plan that complies with the standards of the proposed curriculum.
  3. Approval from a recognised academic accrediting body is required, where applicable.
  4. KHDA will review the submitted plans for curriculum change and inform the school of its decision within 10 working days from the date of receiving complete documentation.
  5. The applicant must submit the necessary changes to the academic plan to KHDA within a maximum of 20 working days from the date of notification. The applicant is permitted to make amendments up to two times. If the applicant exceeds the specified submission period, they will need to submit a new application.
  6. The change must be implemented at the start of the new academic year.
  7. The school must have the required capacity to implement the change.

The Process

  • Step 1: Send the application via email to rpc@khda.gov.ae, attaching all necessary documents and approvals.
  • Step 2: KHDA reviews the application and issues a decision.
  • Step 3: The fee for changing or adding a new curriculum is paid once all conditions and requirements are met.
  • Step 4: KHDA updates the school’s Educational Services Permit to reflect the new or additional curriculum.
