Required Documents

For International Branch Campuses:

  1. A formal letter of appointment issued by the home campus.

For Independent Universities:

  1. A confirmation from the CAA for the appointment of the new Academic Head

Terms and Conditions

  1. KHDA Educational Services Permit and the trade license must be valid at the time of submitting the application for this service.
  2. The candidate must:
    • Be of full legal capacity, of good conduct and reputation, and must not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanour involving dishonesty or moral turpitude, even if pardoned or rehabilitated.
    • Hold an academic qualification appropriate to the degrees awarded by the educational institution.
    • Hold a doctoral degree.
    • Work on a full-time basis at the educational institution.
    • Fulfil all other conditions or requirements specified in a decision issued by the Director General.
    • Successfully pass an official interview conducted by KHDA as part of the evaluation and approval process.

The Process

  • Step 1: Submit the application via the KHDA e-services portal and include the required documents.
  • Step 2: The application is reviewed, and an interview is conducted between KHDA management and the proposed candidate.
  • Step 3: Once approved, an Appointment Notice will be issued, and the Educational Services Permit will be updated to include the details of the new Academic Head.
