Terms and Conditions

  1. The KHDA Educational Services Permit and the license issued by the licensing authority must be valid at the time of submitting the application for this service.
  2. The centre’s name must be clearly displayed in both Arabic and English on the external façade of the centre or in a prominent location, and must match the name approved by KHDA.
  3. The name must not include any terminology that implies evaluation or ranking of the Centre.
  4. If the application is approved, the implementation must commence after the end of the academic year.
  5. The proposed name:
    • Must not be registered, reserved, or similar to the name of another centre in the UAE.
    • Must not contain words that refer, directly or indirectly, to any individuals who have no genuine connection to the centre.
    • Must not include words that may mislead the public.
    • Must not include the name of Allah or the name of any government entity, unless the centre is owned by any of these entities.
    • Must not include names or logos of government or non-government entities from outside the UAE, or imply that the centre is a branch of such entities, unless prior approval has been obtained from KHDA and the relevant authorities, in addition to the approval of the entity that owns those names or logos.
    • Prior approval must be obtained from relevant authorities when using the name of a country, city, province, town, specific geographical area, existing school, or educational curriculum.
    • Must not violate any applicable legislation in the UAE, public order or public morals, or infringe any intellectual property rights.
    • Must match the name of the parent centre, and the word “branch” or the name of the geographical area where the centre will be located must be added, after obtaining the necessary approvals from the relevant authorities.
    • Prior approval must be obtained from the parent centre for the proposed name of branches of international centres.

The Process

  • Step 1: Apply via the KHDA e-services portal, including three suggested names.
  • Step 2: KHDA reviews the application.
  • Step 3: After receiving approval, KHDA will issue a No Objection Certificate valid for 30 days, addressed to the relevant Licensing Authority. The new name will be updated in the KHDA Educational Services Permit
