Service Description
This service allows Early Childhood Centres (ECCs) in Dubai to obtain KHDA’s approval for changing the centre’s name as reflected on the Educational Services Permit.

Service timeline
5 working days. The processing period of 5 working days begins once KHDA has received all required documents.
Required documents
- A Trade Name Reservation certificate from the Department of Economy and Tourism or the relevant licensing authority in the free zone.
Terms and conditions
- The KHDA Educational Services Permit and the Commercial Licence must be valid at the time of submitting the application for this service.
- Approval from the relevant authorities is required when the proposed name includes the name of a country, city, town, or geographical area.
- The proposed name
- Must not be used by other centres or institutions outside the country or be similar to their names, unless those centres or institutions have no objection as determined by the KHDA or any other competent authorities if necessary.
- Must not contain words that directly or indirectly suggest sponsorship of any personalities not genuinely associated with the centre.
- Should not include words that mislead the public or contain phrases used for commercial promotion.
- Does not include any violation of current legislation, public order, or morals.
- Branch ECCs must retain the parent centre's name and identify themselves as a branch (e.g., by including the word "Branch" or indicating the geographical area where the centre will be established) after receiving approval from the relevant authorities.
- The approved centre’s name must be clearly displayed in both Arabic and English, exactly as approved by KHDA.
- The name must not include any terminology that implies valuation or ranking of the Centre.
The process
- Apply via the KHDA portal, including three suggested names.
- The application goes through an internal review, and KHDA makes a decision.
- After receiving approval, KHDA will issue a No Objection Certificate valid for 30 days, addressed to the relevant Licensing Authority. The new name will be updated in the Educational Services Permit.
