DSIB Annual Report 2013

The fifth annual report of the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB) provides a detailed analysis of the key findings resulting from school inspection activity in 2012-13 including three additional thematic investigations reported on, specifically, in Early Years, Special Educational needs and US Curriculum. The report also explains the trends in the performance of private schools offering the 13 different curricula since 2008. The annual report highlights the improving standard of education provided by the private schools and the significant improvements demonstrated by those schools judged to be outstanding and good, the increasing number of students who attend these schools and the declining number of students receiving unsatisfactory education. The report also highlights the key challenges schools are currently facing and the necessary action to be taken by schools in order to improve provision across all schools. The report also sheds light on how the inspection framework, its methodology and tools have developed since 2008. DSIB continues to be committed to providing an independent and reliable evaluation of the quality of the education in private schools in Dubai to parents, students, school staff and all stakeholders in the community.
