Many parents have the opinion that the education of their children is the sole responsibility of schools. Research has consistently shown that parents can also play an important role. This policy brief discusses some of the international research and, in addition, examines the impact of increased parental involvement in the education and development of children, with a particular focus on Dubai. This policy brief was presented at a Dubai School of Government Policy Forum held on 31 January 2012.
