Qualifications and Awards in Dubai (QAD) is the arm of KHDA responsible for regulating the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector, and to quality assure TVET qualifications in Dubai. Established in 2014, it is the sole awarding body in Dubai, as authorized by the UAE National Qualifications Authority (NQA) and Vocational Education and Training Awards Council (VETAC). QAD operates under the rules and regulations of KHDA while its awarding body functions are regulated by the NQA and VETAC. Pioneering the development of TVET in the region, QAD aims to provide excellence in technical and vocational qualifications to support economic and social development in Dubai. QAD ensures learners have access to relevant TVET qualifications which are developed by industry for industry.

One of Dubai’s strengths has always been its position at the heart of the Middle East region. This means that a skilled and flexible workforce is seen as an important driver of growth and progress. Opportunities for technical and vocational education and training are expanding all the time.

With more than 800 approved training institutes offering a broad range of courses – from foreign languages and computer training to engineering, banking and finance – Dubai is an important regional destination for professional development. KHDA aims to support the delivery of high quality technical and vocational education and training, thus meeting the needs of residents and employers in Dubai.
