ABU DHABI — Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has allocated AED11.4 million for the academic year 2010-2011 for financial support and scholarships, of which over 500 needy students benefited.

Dr Nabil Ibrahim, ADU Chancellor, said the grant from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Western Region, Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority is paid as full scholarship, including tuitions fees and others to the 10 top students in the secondary school certificate. It extends to four years for each student till the graduation.

He added that other grant is paid to the students who get grades not less than 70 per cent in the secondary school certificate. They get reduction in tuition fees up to 50 per cent. There is also grant from President of University to the top achievers.
