MUSCAT - The Seventh Conference of Arab Ministers of Education opened this morning in Omani capital, Muscat.
The meeting deals with a major theme: “Post-basic education, reforms and setting up of its streams”. H.E. Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, Minister of Education, is leading UAE delegation
The two-day conference hosted by the Ministry of Education in Oman is organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO).
The conference aims to enhance education in the Arab world. It will shed light on various issues such as the current situation of post-basic education and ways of developing secondary education, enhancing education to meet the needs of society, criteria of quality assurance in post-basic education, frameworks of post-basic (secondary) education in the world.
Moreover, The conference will also deal with moving forward with secondary education reform: Issues, challenges and proposals.
The conference will allow an in-depth discussion on restructuring the secondary education system. The participants will present and discuss analytical studies on the current situation in the Arab world and the different models of secondary education around the world.
