Dubai: The Manipal University in Dubai has launched its new engineering programmes and plans to soon establish a more dynamic campus, which will be located at the Dubai International Academic City.
The programmes are designed to meet the growing demands for professional training of human resources in the region. The first student intake for the new programmes will begin this autumn.
Dr Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Dubai Knowledge Village, Dr B. Ramjee, Director of Manipal University, and Anil Kumble, Manipal Education Brand Ambassador and Captain of the Indian Test Cricket team, attended the event.
Ramjee said the growth of information technology, manufacturing and construction industries has created a demand for engineers.
"There is a definite need to focus on building local talent to fulfil these requirements," he said.
