Dubai: A new council for licensing universities and institutions offering higher education will be formed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), it was announced at a press conference on Sunday.

Currently there are about 25 such universities and institutions in Dubai with about 10,000 students.

The education strategic plan aims to graduate 50,000 students by 2015 with emphasis on quality and quantity.
