In his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued Decree No (10) of 2016 on the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Appreciation Award for Community Services.
According to the Decree, Dhahi Khalfan Tamim is Chairman of the Board of Trustees while Major General Khamis Al Muzainah is the Vice Chairman.
Members of the Board also include Ahmed Mohammed bin Humaidan, Major General Mohammed Saeed Al Marri, Major General Ahmed Hamdan bin Dalmouk, Dr. Mansoor bin Obaid Al Shaikh and representatives of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Health Authority, Community Development Authority and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. The Board of Trustees serves for a renewable term of three years.
This Decree is effective from the date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
Mohammed receives religious scholars, preachers
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, received a group of Muslim religious scholars, preachers and imams who were invited to the UAE by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, members of the judging panel of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award and lecturers from Dubai's Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities who came to extend greetings on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
He welcomed the guests and wished them success in conveying the true message of Islam and projecting the values of tolerance and dialogue.
The scholars praised the UAE for its wise and well-balanced policy and made noted of the cultural diversity, harmony, stability and coexistence of society in the UAE where Muslims and non-Muslims are equal.
They prayed to God to bless the leaders of the UAE with continued good health and spare the UAE from misfortunes.
Meanwhile, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid received a rare copy of the Holy Quran from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Dr. Mohammed Matter Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs And Endowments, Ibrahim Bu Melha, Chairman of the Organising Committee of Dubai International Holy Quran Award, Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai's Protocol and Hospitality Department, and a number of officials.
Later, all guests had iftar at Sheikh Mohammed's Zabeel Palace.
