ABU DHABI — For the first time in the country, independent research grants will be awarded to a group of students and researchers to conduct research in the fields of science, engineering, information technology, and environmental studies.
The Emirates Foundation recently invited original research proposals from applicants in the country. Research projects that meet the selection criteria will be awarded grants of up to Dh200,000, according to Dr Abdulaziz Al Fahim, Senior Executive Advisor for Science & Technology at the Emirates Foundation.
“We strongly encourage participation and empowerment of UAE national students,” said Dr Abdulaziz.
Applicants are required to complete applications that include a summary of the project; laying out clear objectives; the time frame; and a detailed budget.
Proposals from university researchers should additionally undergo internal review by their governing body before being submitted.
