ABU DHABI - The Canadian government has amended the immigration laws for international students. Students can now stay and work up to three years after completing their graduation, Deborah Schuck, Trade Commissioner, Education and Training, GCC at the Canadian Embassy, said.

Under the previous laws for international students, they had to leave the country after completing their studies and were not allowed to stay or work in Canada.

Around 25 Canadian universities, colleges and technical institutes are participating at this year’s Embassy of Canada’s Higher Education Fair.  The teams will be in Abu Dhabi from November 18 to 20 and the fair will be held at the Higher Colleges of Technology Abu Dhabi Men’s College campus on November 19 from 6pm to 9pm, and in Al Ain from November 22 to 23 at the International Hotel from 6.30pm to 9pm.
