Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, attended on Sunday a lecture by Lord Chris Patten of Barnes, Oxford University Chancellor, about the dynamics of changes on the global level.
The lecture was the second in the series of Ramadan lectures organised by the Majlis of Shaikh Mohammad.
The lecturer hailed the economic, educational and political openness in the UAE, adding that Oxford University is looking forward to implementing a number of joint projects in Abu Dhabi.
Speaking about China, Patten analysed the dynamics of its economy and its growth as the largest political economy in the world. Patten also explained the economic revival in India, China and Brazil.
Speaking on the relationship between the West and Islam, he said Islam had made considerable scientific influence on Europe in the Middle Ages.
