ABU DHABI — The new building of the Abu Dhabi German International School was officially opened in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. The ceremony was attended by Dr Frank Walter Steinmeier, Vice- Chancellor and Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, said the school was built on a plot of land donated by the late president Lt. Gen. Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
“We have benefited greatly by having this school in the UAE and we are pleased that the school will carry on its mission which started 31 years ago”, the minister said.
“One of the benefits of having schools such as this in the country is that it provides us with the opportunity to see different methods and techniques in providing a quality education to students,” he added.
“The school includes classes in German language, and provides its Emarati, German and international students with the opportunity to experience various educational and cultural programmes and activities.
