DUBAI - The Education and Culture ministries will jointly organise conferences, seminars and training programmes aimed at enhancing national identity, and social and cultural development in the country. The two ministries signed an agreement to this effect recently.
Under the agreement, the two ministries will prepare common publications that serve family and social members, implement initiatives that support the purpose of the agreement and prepare statistics and databases with the assistance of experts and advisors.
Creative programmes and innovations by young emirates would be promoted as part of the agreement, among them being a series of cultural programmes, such as ‘Young innovations’, ‘Summer in my country’ and ‘National Day’ celebrations.
According to Minister of Education Dr Hanif Hassan, “All our leadership programmes target communication between UAE nationals and ensure their national identity with commitment to Islam and Arabic language.
“We also encourage our students to be active social members in cultural events.
“Our programmes stress on the social, and knowledge skills of the students in order to enable them to participate in local, regional and international events.”
