Dubai: The Ministry of Education is working on developing a new methodology for teaching Arabic language.
Minister of Education Dr Hanif Hassan said a new syllabus and a set of teaching techniques will soon be introduced in UAE schools.
The new methodology will be more attractive and students will be trained to use the language, the minister said.
The minister was speaking at a special ceremony held at his office in Dubai to honour Emirati students who won prestigious prizes in Arabic elocution contest, which was organised by the Arab League in cooperation with Egyptian Ministry of Education.
The pan Arab declamation and elocution contest in standard Arabic had drawn wide acclaim across the Arab world, as the event inspired the Arab youth to speak in pure Arabic, untouched by local dialects.
Dr Hanif Hassan called on the students to enhance their linguistic skills in Arabic language as it is one of the cornerstones of national identity.
