ABU DHABI — The Ministry of Education (MoE) has given the approval to collect old and reusable textbooks from students.
A package of incentives will be announced for principals of schools and students who collect the highest number of old textbooks.
The approval was given at Thursday's meeting of the committee responsible for making arrangements for the new school year.
The ministry has also introduced a new organisational mechanism to fill vacancies in teaching, administrative and technical posts in government
schools, it was announced at the meeting. A directory of guidelines has also been devised to regulate school affairs and create a proper learning environment before the start of the next academic year.
Top ministry officials, their aides and directors of educational zones reviewed the progress made in making available textbooks, human resources, maintenance and school furniture.
