DUBAI - Students will soon be able to access knowledge sources at lightning speeds with the completion of The ‘Future Schools’ project of the Ministry of Education (MoE).
The ministry and Etisalat have entered into an agreement to provide schools in the country with digital subscriber lines (DSL) with a capacity that is eight times more than the existing lines of communication.
The Director-General in the Ministry of Education, Rashid Saeed Lekherbani Al Nueimi, pointed out that the ministry is committed to its strategic plan of setting up an infrastructure that combines technology with education. The ministry has begun upgrading the computer applications being used in the ministry, education zones and schools, and is replacing 11,737 computer devices that are over five years old.
Also being set up is an advanced operations centre that will protect the communications networks of the ministry, education zones and schools against hacking.
