Dubai — Dr Hanif Hassan, UAE Minister of Education, attended a series of workshops on education for special needs children at the Global Summit on Education, being held in Washington D.C.
The forum has brought into focus practices for the physically-challenged students. It aims to promote international dialogue on education for students with special needs. The number of the physically-challenged people had increased to 650 million. Of them, 200 million are children.
Dr Hanif said, “The inclusion of special needs students in public schools aims at achieving social and education stability for this category, enabling them complete their studies and attain social stability.
The move promises lots of benefits for the special needs students as it will give them self-confidence, social value, and integrate them within the society. Such opportunities will help them gain new skills and face new challenges.”
The workshop focussed on the international practices of special needs students’ inclusion in public schools.
