DUBAI — A new international award for distinguished performance in teaching may be launched in September this year by the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Awards for distinguished academic performance.
The Hamdan Award's executive director Sulaiman Al Ansari and officials from United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) held a meeting here yesterday to discuss the terms of references for the proposed award. Unesco’s Shanta Ratnasingham attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the articles of a Memorandum of Understanding, which is expected to be signed between Hamdan bin Rashid Award and Unesco later this summer in Paris. — Wam
