ABU DHABI - The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in the UAE, in collaboration with the Embassy of Switzerland, will organise a series of lectures to highlight the issue of human rights and the concept of human security during 2009.
The announcement coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights this month. Starting on December 29 and ending in May 2009, several lectures will be delivered to students in the HCT colleges across the UAE. The speakers are experts in the field of human rights and human security.
During the HCT ‘Education Without Borders 2009’ Conference, in Dubai on March 30, an exhibition on human rights titled ‘The Face of Human Rights’ will also be held.
Commenting at a Press conference to launch the joint project, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and HCT Chancellor, Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said, “On this occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, HCT are delighted to cooperate with the Swiss Embassy and organise this series of lectures in our colleges.
