SHARJAH - A Sharjah-based private school on Sunday suspended a Grade 8 Iraqi student for two days for allegedly attacking his Emirati classmate on the school premises last Tuesday, leading to the latter’s hospitalisation.
The Iraqi student of Emirates Private School allegedly hit the Emirati boy on his genitals who fell to the floor writhing under severe pain. The Emirati boy was immediately taken to Kuwaiti Hospital by the school management and his father was informed.
The Iraqi boy allegedly threatened to kill the Emirati classmate if he told the school officials or his parents about the incident. Hence, the victim told school officials that he fell and hurt himself.
However, he later told his father about the actual incident and was shifted to American Hospital in Dubai.
The father blamed the school’s administration for not finding out the truth, and accused it of hushing it up as if it is an ordinary incident. The father said it was not the first time that his son was threatened by the same student. He lodged a complaint with Sharjah Police against the school and the Iraqi boy and another complaint with the educational zone and the Ministry of Education.
