UMM AL QUWAIN — The Legal Affairs Department in the Ministry of Education (MoE) has recommended termination of the services of the principal, vice-principal, secretary and Mathematics teacher of Al Raefa School for Boys in Umm Al Quwain for leaking the answer sheets of annual examinations of Grade 12 and Grade 6 last academic year.
The department has also recommended referring the principal to the disciplinary board for making these other staff to leak the answer sheets to help his son who was writing the Grade 12 examinations in the science stream and his daughter. Some other teachers who were found to be involved in helping these students in the exam halls will also be disciplined.
The investigation panel decided not to recommend any action against the two students because they were not be blamed for their father’s sins. The boy’s examination results will be marked above average.
Responsible sources at the MoE, who did not want to named, said a detailed report along with the recommendations would be submitted to Mohammed bin Hindi, Director of Financial Affairs, MoE, before the end of this week. The committee, which took over eight months to complete the investigations, condemned the principal and his assistant, both nationals, and the secretary and Mathematics teacher, both expatriates for their actions.
