Abu Dhabi: UAE nationals seeking higher education now have the opportunity to participate in the Emirates Foundation's first fellowship awards.
The philanthropic arm of the UAE government announced the three-year Ph.D. fellowship programme for Emiratis on Monday in the capital.
The awards will be made available to candidates accepted at an accredited university in their specialty and will focus on key areas pertaining to the future of the nation: Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Environmental Sciences and Planning or Policy, Social Development, Education and Arts, Literature and Culture.
The awards will depend on the performance of the students in their accredited universities. The foundation announced that as many as 12 students with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent could be selected for this prestigious award.
The deadline for application for the 2008 fall semester will be June 30. All applications will be processed through the Foundation's website: www.emiratesfoundation.ae
