Dubai: More than 215 companies will participate in this year's Careers UAE Fair where Emiratis can explore different career prospects.
The fair is held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It will be held from tomorrow until April 17 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event brings together local, regional and international companies from various sectors. These include trade, real estate, IT, oil and gas, tourism and the financial and hospitality sectors, as well as semi-government and government organisations.
Growth
There was a 31 per cent growth compared to the previous year in the floor area occupied by exhibitors this year and 17 per cent more exhibitors are taking part, said organisers.
Hilal Saeed Al Merri, director general of the Dubai World Trade Centre, said organisers have built on the reputation of previous Careers UAE fairs that empowered Emirati's to effectively contribute to the country's progress.
"With Emiratisation a prime focus of the economy, Careers UAE 2008 will give guidance to talented UAE nationals and professionals to shape their careers," said Al Merri.
Emiratis can interact directly with employers at the job fair. It is open to UAE nationals over 21 years of age.
Participating companies will also post their job advertisement online via the Careers UAE website.
