Dubai: The Ministry of Education on Wednesday announced new responsibilities and authorities assigned to directors of the ministry's departments, that will help in decentralising decision making process.
The decision comes following the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who instructed all federal ministries in April, to adapt administrative structure of the private sector to enhance the sense of responsibilities of their administrators and employees.
After the changes, the ministry has reduced the number of its supervisory departments from 27 to 16. Minister Hanif Hassan stated that decentralising decision making will "help position schools at the centre of education reform."
