Dubai, Oct.11th , 2008- The Knowledge and Human Development Authority of Dubai (KHDA) recently participated in the GBN 3rd International Benchmarking Conference in Budapest, Hungary.

Fatma Belrehif, one of the project managers at KHDA, presented a research paper titled ‘Planning the City of Dubai - A new governance approach’. Among other issues her paper touched upon the strategy of education in Dubai which is derived from and is in line with the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.

Dr. Wafi Dawood, Chief of Organizational Excellence at KHDA, said “That KHDA’s participation in this international conference is marked by a team of young Emarati nationals is a living proof of its emphasis on supporting and developing UAE nationals, enabling them to be part of a knowledge society and encouraging them to pursue life long learning.”

KHDA’s strategy aims to increase awareness about environmental issues, integrating sustainable development into school education, providing a world class education for all and prepare nationals to contribute and participate in strategic sectors in order to provide the necessary human resources required as per DSP 2015.

More than 30 research papers from various countries were discussed at the conference, proving Dubai’s international status in the fields of strategic planning and organizational excellence

The strategy of KHDA is based on an extensive stakeholder consultation process that included more than 10,000 people - (6093 of whom were students and parents, 2811 educationalists, 1108 business owners and 15 federal and local institutions).
