Dubai: Dubai Police's Human Rights Care Department organised a workshop for police personnel on dealing with visually-challenged people.

The workshop organised in coordination with Tamkeen Centre, aims at spreading awareness among police personnel working in customer service departments and police stations on dealing with visually-challenged people in a respectful way that serves them.

Around 25 members from various departments and stations participated in the workshop.

The participants were also briefed on Tamkeen Centre, its mission, which is to change transform visually-challenged people into productive members of the society.

The centre, which was established in 2004, to support people with special needs in the UAE, offers vocational training programmes and cooperates with organizations to integrate people with special needs in the society.
