Dubai Knowledge Village, a member of TECOM Investments, today announced it will host 'Global HR Forum 2008' in cooperation with the Government of Korea to foster partnership and share best practices between Korea and the Middle East.

The forum will be held from 21-22 April under the theme 'Regional Partnership for Talent Strategy' at the DKV Conference Centre. Key speakers from the Middle East will include His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research; H.E. Nuriya Al-Sabeeh, Kuwait Minister for Education; Hind Al Mualla, Chief of Innovation, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, UAE, and Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, said:

'Dubai Knowledge Village is honoured to host this regional conference in partnership with the Government of Korea to promote sharing of knowledge and experiences among human resource experts. The forum aims to explore innovative solutions and share HR best practices in education, enterprise and government, in addition to strengthening bilateral ties between Korea and the Middle East countries'.



The forum will focus on current challenges that face the HR industry, including formation of global education clusters, human resources development strategies of global enterprises; vocational education and training; R&D human resources development strategy, and new dimensions of cooperation between Korea and the Middle East.

The Global HR Forum will attract participation from policy makers involved in education and training in the GCC and Korea, representatives from education and training institutions, experts and researchers, besides HR specialists and global leaders.

Korea will be represented by Jong-Yong Park, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology; Sang-Min Shin, President, The Korea Economic Daily; Sang-Soo Ahn, Mayor, Incheon Metropolitan City; Young- Ki Kim, President Handong Global University, Seung-Ho Choi, Secretary-General, Middle-East Society, Senior Vice President of Global HR, LG Electronics; Unna Huh, Former President, Information and Communications University; Chul Park, President, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies; Deck-Kyu Han, Chairman, Korea Middle East Association, and Doo-Hee LEE, President, Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE).

The Government of Korea inaugurated the Global Human Resources Forum in 2006, in collaboration with The Korea Economic Daily, Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, and the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training, in order to garner worldwide effort to develop and utilize competent human resources, as well as promote stronger collaboration between governments, enterprises and educational institutions.
