Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV), a member of TECOM Investments, today announced 98 human resource development companies and consultancies made the cluster their location of choice in 2007 for setting up their operations, bringing the total number of DKV's business partners to nearly 460.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) 2008, the Middle East's leading education fair, which runs until 5 April at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Registering an annual growth of 15% in the number of companies based at the regional hub for human resources development (HRD), training and consultancy, Dubai Knowledge Village has successfully attracted prominent names such as Morgan International, IRCA Middle East, Academic Solutions, and RICS International Limited.

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, said: 'As part of its mission to grow into a vital centre for learning and excellence, Dubai Knowledge Village has begun to play a key role in shaping the human resource strategies of the UAE and the region. By providing the necessary infrastructure and support to training, HRD and consultancy companies, we aim to help raise the bar in human resource practices, while contributing to Dubai's strategic mission of building a holistic knowledge-based economy.'

Ibrahim Moosa Jamel, Director of DKV, said: 'We have received tremendous response from companies including management consultancies, training centres, accessment centres as well as research and development centres. Knowledge Village is poised to take on a more proactive role in shaping the future of the region's human capital development and human capital management.'

George Saad, DKV Head of Commercial and Alliances, said: 'As the world's only free zone totally focused on professional training and learning support services, Dubai Knowledge Village registered an excellent overall growth in 2007. The number of human resources development companies went up by 10 per cent, and training establishments by 15 per cent, while consultancy companies grew by 40 per cent over 2006.'

Home to over 460 professional training centres, Dubai Knowledge Village specializes in human resource development, human resource management, professional testing, as well as management training and consultancy services.

Currently in its 20th edition, Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) 2008 is organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, and is supported by Dubai Knowledge Village.
