Kalba: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the allocation of Dh200 million for the Leadership Training Programme, which includes training more than 10,000 teachers across the UAE.
The instructions were issued during Shaikh Mohammad's visit to Kalba, which is part of his nationwide tour.
Shaikh Mohammad visited the Kalba hospital and met medical staff. He toured the laboratory, wards and talked to patients. He ordered provision of medical and curative equipment required by the hospital.
Shaikh Mohammad visited Al Qariah Health Centre of Fujairah Medical Zone, where he met the health centre's director.
Shaikh Mohammad toured the streets of Kalba and talked to some Emiratis who welcomed him and expressed their happiness at his visit.
The Vice-President's tour included Umm Al Fadhel Elementary School in Kalba, where he attended a presentation on the Leadership Training Programme.
Shaikh Mohammad also visited Umm Umarah secondary school for girls, where he met the principal and teachers and inspected the laboratory, library and a number of classrooms.
He called on teachers and students to benefit from international experience in education, and instructed Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, to focus on career development programmes in schools and implement the education strategy approved by the Cabinet.
He was accompanied by Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Humaid Al Qatami, Minister of Health, and other senior officials.
