Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a Cabinet meeting in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
During the meeting attended by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, the Cabinet approved the establishment of the National Authority for Demographic Structure, which was earlier established on a decision by Shaikh Mohammad.
The authority is tasked with following up on the demographic structure dossier and implementing demographic policies in line with the directives of the Cabinet.
The authority will be responsible for monitoring the completion and coordinating with federal and local department to ensure the implementation of demographic initiatives and strategies.
The Cabinet also approved increasing the salaries of teaching staff and employees of the UAE and Zayed universities and Higher Colleges of Technology.
It also endorsed the formation of a council to coordinate financial policies between the Ministry of Finance and local departments.
The Cabinet approved establishing a UAE diplomatic mission in Senegal and Belarus.
It endorsed the draft security agreement signed between the UAE and Azerbaijan.
The Cabinet endorsed the final accounts of some federal establishments and budgets of a number of federal bodies.
It also reviewed reports and draft laws, as well as international agreements supposed to be signed between the UAE and a number of countries.
