Dubai’s future as a city of culture and the arts was outlined when the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) played host to the new Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.

The Authorities discussed how their work will overlap, bringing the arts to schools and universities, while ensuring that as many students as possible visit the cultural events which will be held around Dubai throughout the year.

Speaking at KHDA’s head office in Academic City, the Authority’s Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General Dr Abdulla Al Karam, said: “What we have found is that our work covers the whole of a person’s journey through life. The arts are important at every stage and here in Dubai we are fortunate to be able to incorporate that into our city while it is still being built.”

Represented by its team of strategy and educational specialists, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority added: “The Dubai Strategic Plan sets out an exciting vision of Dubai as an Arabian global city which shapes 21st Century culture and arts in the region and the world.”

Working together with its partners at KHDA, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority will ensure this vision comes to fruition. Both Authorities share a common objective to inspire future generations and nurture Dubai’s talent in the arts and cultural management professions.
