Dubai The Education Ministry will apply local and international academic standards developed by Abu Dhabi Education Council in public schools as part of a cohesive academic accreditation process.
Ten public schools will be selected to bring forward new standards aimed at raising the standard of education in the UAE to international levels, which is coordinated by the newly established Education Coordination and Integration Council, councils and authorities.
The council is chaired by Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, who set the second meeting yesterday to address key changes needed in education such as developing academic standards and performance, linking the curriculum with the requirements of the job market.
Changes in the curriculum will take place in three subjects, Maths, Science and English in these 10 schools.
These standards have been developed by Abu Education Council while Arabic, Islamic Studies and National studies are developed by the National Council at Ministry of Education.
